9,500 residents of the northwest valley were part of a history-making event on March 28.
No Kings 3 drew an estimated 8 million people across the country — more than 20 times the size of the Tea Party’s largest protest. In Arizona’s CD-8 alone, 9,500 people showed up across nine sites, our largest series of protests yet. That tells elected officials, detention contractors, and anyone paying attention that this resistance community is organized, growing, and not going anywhere.
Now we move.
The Strategy
The national strategy is clear: build enough pressure to stop the worst of the Project 2025 agenda, hold every elected official accountable at every level, and turn the backlash into an electoral majority in November 2026. No Kings is part of that strategy — not as a symbolic gesture, but as an organizing tool. Every time we assemble thousands of people across the northwest valley, we are proving that this community can mobilize at scale. We’re mapping our network, training leaders, and building the muscle memory that makes the next response faster and stronger than the last. We don’t know exactly what moment will demand our full force — but when it comes, we won’t be starting from scratch. We’ll be ready.
Two Actions in the Next Two Weeks
Surprise City Council Meeting — Tuesday, April 7
Surprise City Hall | 6:00 PM | 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza
This is the one. The Surprise City Council will address the GardaWorld ICE detention facility at 13290 W. Sweetwater Ave. — a 418,000 sq ft facility in our community that our neighbors never consented to. We need the chamber packed. We need public comment. We need you in that room or protesting outside.

Surprise State of the City — Tuesday, April 14
Surprise Stadium | 6:00 PM | 15850 N. Bullard Avenue
We expect to have a presence at the Surprise State of the City event the following week. What that looks like will depend in part on what action the city council takes on April 7 — so show up to the council meeting first, and watch for updates from us on this one.
Stay in the Fight
Showing up once is a start. Staying connected is how we win.

The work ahead is real, and so is the community doing it. April 7 is the next step — but every action after that builds on what came before. This is how movements win: not in a single event, but in the accumulation of people who decided to stay in it. You’ve already proven you’re one of them, and now you know you’re not alone.
