PHOENIX, ARIZONA, June 22, 2025 — A festive but defiant atmosphere dominated Happy Valley Road on Saturday morning in north Phoenix as eighty West Valley residents gathered to exercise their First Amendment Rights and demand an end to the Trump administration’s authoritarian overreach.

“Every week, more people in this district are finding their voice,” said Brent Peak, one of the event’s organizers. “We are sick of the authoritarian overreach from Trump and tired of seeing Congressman Abe Hamadeh roll over for it. This movement is only getting stronger.”

Participants waved American flags and held signs calling on Rep. Hamadeh to take action to preserve veterans’ benefits, Social Security, and Medicaid. “We The People” was seen on banners and t-shirts as the group referenced the Declaration of Independence, when the United States ousted the King of England.

Drivers honked and waved in support as they passed the event, including a caravan of decorated vehicles participating in the protest. One vehicle had a flag that stated, “Honor veterans, defend democracy.” Peak noted the group is peaceful and thanked the Phoenix Police Department for their professionalism and support as the group protested on the public sidewalk.
