Three Strikes and He’s Out of Town: Rep. Hamadeh Dodges Constituents Again
Peoria, AZ — For the third time in a row, constituents showed up to Rep. Abe Hamadeh’s so-called “mobile office hours” to drop off letters for him — and once again, no one from his staff was available to engage with constituents. This time, the event was held at Sunrise Mountain Library in Peoria, where neither Rep. Hamadeh nor his staff were present to speak with constituents. Hamadeh is reportedly in Israel on a trip funded by a lobbying organization.
Brent Peak, co-chair of Northwest Valley Indivisible and a constituent participating in the Speak Up CD8 letter drop, gathered letters from attendees and drove them to Rep. Hamadeh’s Surprise office. There, District Director Joshua Lyons accepted the letters but declined to meet or hear any concerns.
“Showing up should be the bare minimum,” said Peak. “But time after time, Hamadeh avoids his constituents — and even his staff won’t show up or talk with us.”
The pattern extends far beyond mobile office hours. Hamadeh has not held a single public town hall since taking office. His staff has threatened peaceful demonstrators with arrest, ordered a constituent’s vehicle towed, and routinely ignored direct requests for meetings from district residents.
Despite advertising “mobile office hours” as an opportunity to connect with the public, Rep. Hamadeh has yet to appear at a single one. And by all available reports, his staff hasn’t meaningfully engaged with constituents at these events for months.
Constituents are asking: If he won’t hold a town hall, won’t open a district office inside the district, and won’t show up to the office hours he advertises — how is he representing anyone but himself?
Three strikes. No office. No accountability. No show.
Rep. Hamadeh is out of excuses.
