Constituents to Deliver “Speak Up CD8” Letters at Hamadeh’s Mobile Office Hours

Northwest Valley Indivisible Challenges Rep. Hamadeh: Will He Strike Out a Third Time?

Peoria, AZ – On Thursday, August 7, community members will gather at Sunrise Mountain Library in Peoria to deliver letters as part of the Speak Up CD8 campaign. The letter drop coincides with Rep. Abe Hamadeh’s so‑called “mobile office hours” — a substitute for a permanent district office, since he does not maintain one inside Arizona’s 8th Congressional District.

Neither Rep. Hamadeh nor his staff have shown up to the last two scheduled mobile office hours, allegedly because no constituents had requested appointments. But local residents say they’ve been trying to be heard for six months without success. If Hamadeh or his staff fail to appear again on Thursday, it will mark the third strike in a row.

“This is Abe’s chance to prove he’s available,” said Brent Peak, co‑chair of Northwest Valley Indivisible. “We’ll be there peacefully with our letters, open to meeting with him individually or in small groups. The question is: will he finally show up to hear from his constituents, or will he strike out yet again?”

This week, constituents are highlighting two urgent concerns:

  • Kelly Yu’s case: A longtime Peoria business owner, law‑abiding resident, and mother of a U.S. citizen, Kelly is now detained by ICE and facing deportation. Community members say families like hers deserve protection, not persecution.
  • The Epstein Files: Hamadeh voted in Congress to keep the files hidden. Constituents are calling for transparency — not cover‑ups.

Organizers emphasize that their actions are peaceful and library‑friendly, consistent with past events noted by the Surprise and Peoria Police Departments.

Event Details

  • What: Speak Up CD8 Letter Drop during Rep. Hamadeh’s “Mobile Office Hours”
  • When: Thursday, August 7, 2025 | 9:00–10:00 a.m.
  • Where: Sunrise Mountain Library, 21109 N 98th Ave, Peoria, AZ

“We don’t need another press release from his office or a copy‑and‑paste form letter from his staff,” added Peak. “We need our congressman to look us in the eye, listen to our concerns, and engage in honest dialogue.”
